pens, the simple part of my life

The Hero 329 John gave me has been passed along to a new owner, who will probably appreciate it as much as I did. As a replacement, there is now a Lamy Studio stainless steel extra fine point in my pen cup. It's a nice pen, but getting the top side of the nib free of excess ink is a losing battle. Any paper used to wipe near the feed line pulls ink out and onto the top surface. The rubberised grip is very handy, however.

The Walmart/Sam's Club gift card given out at work went to some movie and music purchases I'd been holding off on. I have to say, the BBC Hitchhiker's Guide Series is much, much better than the recent film. The effects aren't as good, but the jokes are a lot better.

Today's Wikipedia article of some relevance is Asperger's syndrome. It would explain a lot, if it is indeed applicable.

Some other things of import are happening as well, but this is not the proper forum.

Re: ink on nibs
Either wipe, once, very quickly, or carefully dab using the edges of, say, a paper towel to soak up the ink.

I must confess a certain fondness for the BBC series, but I thought that the recent film was a hoot.

re: ink

Tried both; you wouldn't believe how fast the ink manages to flow out of that channel. It's just going to have to be accepted, I suppose.

re: remake

It looked neat, and I liked the guide entries, but it felt oddly flat, much in the way a balloon isn't.

I stand corrected. A thicker paper towel did wipe the ink off.
